On August 29, 2025, Harbin Institute of Technology welcomed the incoming class of international freshmen. Over 4,000 new students from nearly 70 countries and regions arrived on campus, driven by a thirst for knowledge and a passion for Chinese culture, embarking on a new academic journey.

It's a great honor to study at Harbin Institute of Technology, said Ethan, a new student from Canada, after completing registration. The campus is beautiful, and everyone is warm and friendly. I'm truly excited about my future studies. Many freshmen eagerly put on the custom cultural shirts provided by the school and took photos with their new friends, capturing the beginning of this new chapter.
上午10时许，校党委书记陈杰、校长韩杰才来到迎新现场，与来自不同国家的国际新生亲切交流，详细询问他们的来华经历、适应情况和学业规划，并鼓励他们尽快融入校园生活，积极参与跨文化交流，努力成长为知华、友华、爱华的国际人才。
At around 10:00 a.m., HIT Council Chair Chen Jie and President Han Jiecai visited the orientation site, greeting international freshmen from various countries with warmth. They inquired about the students' journeys to China, their adaptation progress, and academic plans, encouraging them to integrate quickly into campus life, actively participate in cross-cultural exchanges, and strive to become international talents who understand China, are friendly toward China, and love China.
备受学生喜爱的学院吉祥物“哈哈虎”也亮相现场，与新生及家长热情互动，送上真挚祝福。每位新生还收到了一份精心准备的入学礼包，内含定制文化衫、学院徽章、校园卡套和吉祥物钥匙扣等纪念品，承载着学校对新生的欢迎之情与殷切期望。
The school's beloved mascot, HaHa Tiger, also made a joyful appearance, interacting warmly with students and parents. Each new student received a thoughtful welcome gift bag containing a custom cultural shirt, school badge, campus card holder, and mascot keychain—reflecting the university's warm welcome and high expectations.
随着报到工作有序完成，2025级国际新生将陆续进入入学教育与课程学习阶段。未来，他们将在“规格严格，功夫到家”的校训精神熏陶下，汲取知识、拓展视野、结交友谊，在多元文化交流中成长成才，为促进中外人文交流、推动构建人类命运共同体贡献青春力量。
With registration successfully completed, the Class of 2025 international students will soon begin orientation programs and academic coursework. In the days ahead, they will grow under the university motto of Being strict in qualification for graduates; making every endeavor in education students gaining knowledge, broadening their horizons, and building lasting friendships. Through rich multicultural exchanges, they will mature into capable young global citizens, contributing youthful energy to people-to-people exchanges between China and the world, and to the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.
